schoenberg scribble

Schoenberg’s atonal pieces are so devoid of typical musical patterns that they have often been compared to the sound of a cat walking on a piano.  Artist Cory Arcangel recreated Drei Klavierstucke using various YouTube videos of cats walking on pianos [1].

To me, Schoenberg sounds like a scribble. So I visualized Drei Klavierstucke as a growing scribble.

The scribble kind of ends up looking like a massive hairball at the end which I guess is appropriate because I decided to make this after seeing Cory Arcangel’s cats.
